HPSC HCS  Age Limit Notification 2026 :

Total Post

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age (General posts except DSP): 42 years
• DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police): 27 years maximum

Official 2026 HCS vacancy numbers have not yet been released by HPSC. The full notification — which will include the exact number of posts and category-wise vacancy break-up — is expected to be published soon on the HPSC website

In the recent 2023 HCS recruitment cycle (used as a guide for expected pattern), there were about 121 total vacancies across various administrative services, including posts like Deputy Superintendent of Police, Excise & Taxation Officer, Block Development & Panchayat Officer, Tehsildar and others

• To be eligible for HPSC HCS 2026:
• Education: Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institution. 
• Age: Candidates must meet the age limits specified in the official notification. For most services, the upper age limit is usually higher (e.g., up to 42 years), while for certain positions like DSP, it is capped lower (e.g., around 27 years). 
• (Remember: Reserved category candidates often get age relaxations as per government rules. You should refer to the official notification for exact details.)

• Preliminary Exam – Objective-type paper to shortlist candidates for mains
• Main Written Exam – Descriptive papers that evaluate in-depth knowledge and writing skills. 
• Personality Test / Interview – Final stage assessing overall personality and suitability for administrative role
