For the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 February session, the online application process opened on November 27, 2025 and candidates had to complete their registration and **pay the application fee by the 18th of December, 2025 (before 11:59 PM). The exam itself was scheduled to be held on 8th February 2026. The application fee varies based on category and number of papers applied for. Candidates in the General and OBC (NCL) categories were required to pay ₹1,000 for either Paper I or Paper II alone and ₹1,200 if applying for both papers. For applicants in the SC, ST and PwBD (differently-abled) categories, the fee was ₹500 for one paper and ₹600 for both. All fee payments had to be made online through debit/credit card, net banking or similar options during the application period.

• Fill basic details and create Login ID & Password
• Login and complete the application form

The selection process for CTET 2026 is based purely on the written examination conducted by CBSE. There is no interview or merit list for direct appointment under CTET. Candidates are required to appear for Paper I, Paper II, or both, depending on the teaching level they are applying for. Each paper consists of 150 multiple-choice questions, and candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks prescribed for their category to pass the exam. Those who qualify the CTET are awarded a CTET Eligibility Certificate, which makes them eligible to apply for teaching posts in central government schools like KVS, NVS, Army Public Schools, and also in many state and private schools. Final selection for a teaching job is done separately by the respective recruiting authority.
